Jesus Sandals Are Not Just For Hippies Anymore

Your feet are one of the most important areas of your body. They are essential to living healthy, normal lives. That's why it is so important to take care of our feet and treat them with the care we tend to show to the rest of our bodies. Our poor feet are often neglected, being so far away from our hands and eyes, but don't let them become out of sight, out of mind. Take care of your feet and they will thank you by feeling better.

Finding the right shoes is imperative to taking care of our feet. In the summer, you might like a sandal, but those plastic flip flops with the toe thong can be uncomfortable and look unbecoming if you are trying to look dressy or professional. If you want a sandal different from those kinds of sandals, try comfortable leather sandals with a good sole and straps - the ones you might call Roman sandals, Greek sandals, or Jesus sandals.

These styles of sandals are made with both fit and design in mind. And if something has been around for centuries, then you must admit the design is simply the best. These sandals have been around since the time of Christ and this is how they got the nickname "Jesus sandals." They were also the footwear of the Romans and Greeks before him.

The Jesus sandal is unbelievably comfortable and very convenient to wear, which contributes to the longevity of this sandal. Idea for warmer climates, these shoes protect your feet with the soles, and feel as comfortable as if you where wearing a regular shoe, yet allows the foot to breathe. These are a few of the reasons that these shoes are the perfect shoes for traveling or vacations.

When in the market to purchase a new pair of shoes, keep in mind that as with everything else, no two shoes, or sandals, are created equal. Always try on any shoes you are thinking of buying, even if they are tagged as being your size, as the size listing is not always correct.

When purchasing shoes, it is advisable to know what kind of leather or man-made materials have been used. The different material will determine the quality of your shoe. If you want your shoes to look their best and last the longest, it is recommended you go with a leather shoe as opposed to a synthetic man-made shoe.

Children's Musical Instruments and Baby Musical Toys

While it is now generally accepted that music is important for the development of babies and young children, many parents are confused by the array of musical toys, instruments and recordings that are available in the market place. Musical instruments shall be discussed here.

The percussion family
There are a number of musical instruments generally from the percussion family that are suitable for little ones. Percussion instruments are defined as those instruments that are shaken, scraped or struck with a beater or mallet. There are two kinds of percussion instruments: tuned and un-tuned. Tuned percussion instruments are correctly pitched enabling the playing of melodies. The piano is a tuned percussion instrument as are electronic keyboards and instruments with bars such as xylophones and glockenspiels and individual tone or resonator bars. By far the majority of percussion instruments are un-tuned and some examples include maracas or shakers, triangles, jingle bells and tambourines and drums.

What is best for baby?
It is important that babies are provided with musical toys and instruments that are age appropriate. Adult musical instruments can often be unsuitable. Size really does matter. For example a large pair of Latin wooden maracas would not be suitable for a young baby as they are too heavy and cannot be easily manipulated. Strong sounds may also startle babies. There are however many types of mini maracas or baby maracas that are lightweight with a delicate sound, have easy grasp handles and are safe and washable. They provide visual stimulation as well with lots of bright, colourful beads that are safely enclosed. This is an important consideration as all children under one year will put everything in the mouth. Halilit produce some beautiful mini maracas for babies as well as lovely rainbow rain shakers in small sizes. They also have a mini sea drum with beads and a lovely sea pattern.

Care needs to be taken when selecting bells. All bells have jingles and small parts that can be a choking hazard. Bells should only be used under supervision with little ones. There is however a completely safe bell for babies produced by Kindermusik where the jingles are enclosed in cloth. These bells are attached to Velcro and can be wrapped around wrists and ankles.

Appealing to young children
Babies and young children learn through all the senses. Musical toys and musical instruments should be appealing in many ways. They should not only sound great but should be visually attractive with good design and bright colours. They should also feel good to play and encourage active playing. They are not just for looking at. Good quality musical instruments can withstand vigorous use. Many toy drums for example can be five minute wonders but a sturdy drum with a natural skin head or quality synthetic head can give years of enjoyment. Remo produce some beautiful children's drums from the delicious looking lollipop to jungle patterned toms, djembes, and bongos.

Quality and price
Good quality can often mean paying considerably more. This is the case not only with drums but certainly with xylophones and glockenspiels. Sonor produce a glockenspiel with precision tuning and an incredibly beautiful sound that is built to last for years. In comparison many cheap barred instruments have a tinny, dull, highly inaccurate pitch. But quality can also come at bargain basement prices if you know what to look for and where to look. Many examples can be found with wooden toys and wooden musical instruments such as castanets, tone blocks, spinning crackers and recorders.

How to Clean Those Lovable Plush Toys

Are YOUR Stuffed Animals DIRTY?

Stuffed animals and dollies can lead a hard life, if they're loved. Whether they sleep with you, tag along to play dates or Day Care, play hide and seek in the back yard, or just cuddle up by the TV sharing your snacks, they can really get dirty. Even the ones we "grownups" have out for "show" will eventually get dusty.

If you're collecting your animals as an investment, by all means protect them, take good care of the swing tags, and don't wash them.

But for the rest of us, who love on our plush pals, here are some suggestions on how to get them clean.

There are symbols on the tush tag of many toys that tell you how to clean that toy. They typically indicate if it can be washed, the temperature for the wash water, if it can be bleached, and if it can be machine dried.

If it can be machine washed, the best way we have found is to put it in a pillow case and tie a loose knot in the end. Run it through the washing machine on gentle cycle in cold water, with detergent, but no bleach. We use dye-free and scent-free Tide. We then place the stuffed animal on a large absorbent towel to dry. Occasionally, there will be a need to pre-treat an area of soil, for which we use Shout. Sometimes we find a plush lovey with just a little light soil from being on a shelf. In that case, I usually hand wash it with mild dishwashing liquid and let it air dry.

We do suggest that you wash any toy that you intend to allow a young child to play with.

What Do You Buy a Newborn Baby?

So your friends have had a baby, and you're wondering what to get them for a gift. Well, you've come to the right place. Here are a few ideas to get you thinking - you might not like all of them, but hopefully there will be something here that appeals to you.

The first, and most obvious, candidate for a baby gift has to be clothes. Many people are reluctant to buy clothes in advance of the birth because they're not sure what gender the baby is going to be, but don't let that put you off - white clothes are nice-looking and gender-neutral. It will depend on where you live, but the best baby clothes tend to be soft, fluffy things that can keep the baby cosy and warm. Do realise, however, that clothes aren't exactly an original gift, and the couple might already be snowed under with them.

Toys are another favourite, although it can be difficult to know what to get. Things like mobiles and other brightly coloured things that the baby can swipe at tend to be a good choice, as are rattles and soft toys that make noises. You will probably win more points with the parents by getting more educational baby toys, such as those with shapes or animal noises, instead of ones that just seem cool.

If you want to think more unconventionally, though, there are plenty of things to consider. Why not buy (or contribute towards) a cot, or a pushchair? Why not start a savings fund for the baby, with a decent chunk of money to get it started? Or you could buy nappies, or bath stuff, or whatever - take a look at the baby section in any shop to get plenty of ideas.

One last idea: with all this focus on things for the baby, maybe the parents are feeling a little left out, with no presents for them and no money or time left to treat themselves for a good long while. A nice thing to do is to get a present for the parents, as it will probably be the only thing they get for themselves, and they'll be pleased that someone thought of them.

The Role of Toys in Your Child's Development

The main purpose of toys is to bring joy to children. It adds more fun to their games. But one can never underestimate the power of toys. Toys are very helpful in preparing your child to learn bigger things. Although it may only seem that they are just playing and having fun, there are a lot of things that they can learn. There are educational toys that give your child the fun of playing and learning at the same time.

Toys have been your child's constant companion since he was still a baby. Small colorful toys helped him discovered the different colors and shapes. It also introduced him to the different sounds in his surroundings and allowed him to distinguish the different textures. Through toys, your child discovered the fun of using his senses.

At preschool, your child is more active. Although he has outgrown those colorful toddler toys, his interest to discover and create new things is continuing to take its toll. He starts to learn new things like associating his toys with the things in his surroundings. He learns to do role playing and takes his imagination to a new level. He also learns to appreciate and create new things out of the different colors and shapes. Their toys can aid you as well in teaching him how to write, count and draw. You can also teach him responsibility by assigning him a task to organize his toys after playing. You can teach him to socialize as well by asking him to share his toys with other children.

When your child is older, there are a lot of board games that you can introduce to him that will enhance his analytical skills. Game boards such as chess and domino help develop the strategic skills of your child. If you want to widen his vocabulary you can teach him how to play scrabble and word factory. This will also introduce your child to the different rules and regulations and the limitations it brings. He will also learn the value of sportsmanship and humility through this.

Children's interests vary as they grow. If your child does not show interest to any board game, then don't force him. You can ask him about the sports he is interested in and support it. He will surely learn a lot from it. He will be able to socialize by playing with a team and value the significance of teamwork. He will also learn about discipline and hard work in order to attain their team goal.

You may have not noticed it, but toys play a very important role in the development of your child's well being. His desire for toys change over the years because his needs varies from one stage to another but this does not mean that what he has discovered and learned with the previous toys he had will be forgotten. He may not be able to remember how he played when he was still a baby or how much he liked to put things together, but it will show in the person he has grown into.

Some Ideas For Baby Shower Scrapbooking Layouts

It's no wonder that most mothers are on the hunt for unique and original baby shower scrapbooking layouts, since a baby shower is probably one of the many memorable moments she'll want to capture during her pregnancy. All those cute presents and all the friends and relative that gather should be remembered and some baby shower scrapbooking layouts can be just the thing for that!

Of course there are many different paper packs and templates that a person can purchase when it comes to commemorating a baby shower. Many scrapbook companies put together pages that are set with frames for photos, cute sayings, and everything you need to make a baby scrapbook page. If you're new to scrapbooking or aren't creatively gifted then these baby shower scrapbooking layouts can be the right thing for you. All that's needed are those pictures! But some people aren't interested in having their pages already designed for them but still are a bit overwhelmed with what to do when it comes to making up their own baby shower scrapbooking layouts.

One thing to keep in mind is that while many use the colors of pink and blue for their pages you can get past this and use colors that you like. Strong colors of autumn such as chocolate brown, rusty red, and warm yellow are favorites for many women when it comes to baby shower scrapbooking layouts. One reason for this is that these colors are somewhat neutral and a bit easier on the eyes than strong blues, but aren't as washed out as pink can sometime seem. You might also try these same colors but in primary shades, meaning red, blue and yellow. Usually baby toys are tinted with primary colors so this can really be appropriate for baby shower scrapbooking layouts.

Get creative with the wording and the fonts you use. Many opt for "childish" fonts that resemble the writing of a child but there's no need to do this if you prefer something more elegant or something simpler. You can put the child's name or a simple phrase such as "Baby Boy" or "Baby Girl" across the top of any baby shower scrapbooking layouts and some simple wording underneath in a smaller font for a nice touch. And remember that you don't need to work the word "baby" into your layouts - try words like Love, Welcome, Family, and Cherished.

Baby Developmental Toys

Generally, babies don't genuinely need to have toys, but it's constantly enjoyable to watch baby explore the world and understand from the correct toys. Some toys are just for enjoyable, but these are typically not valuable until baby is about a year and a half or two years old. Baby developmental toys, on the other hand, might be played with by babies as young as three to six months old. These toys are developed to support them discover numerous from the gross and discover motor expertise which they are heading to discover anyway. These are just a far more enjoyable way for mom and dad to be involved with it all.

Some from the initial points which could be learned from baby developmental toys is how the hands and feet work. These are gross motor ability at earliest. You might want to acquire some thing that baby can kick. This will likely be one of the 1st issues they'll do. Some bouncy or vibrating chairs have hanging toys near the feet that baby will kick. They study cause and effect too as that people feet are theirs and which they can do points with them. They may well concentrate quite tough on kicking once they realize they might do it and it may possibly keep them occupied for a incredibly long time, or at least until they feel hungry.

The next set of gross motor expertise baby is heading to work on in regards to baby developmental toys would be which they very own those people hands and that people hands can do the same points the feet can do. They'll swing their arms at hanging toys too, though they'll overshoot the mark pretty a bit at very first. They also understand, because they did with their feet, that if they hit a thing it will move or make a noise. This really is a wonderful discovery for baby and one you may cherish. You might soon uncover them staring at their hands because they find out what they're and which they have control more than what they might do.

After this, you need to think about play mats as baby developmental toys that will assist your baby with gross motor knowledge. They need to spend some time on their tummy every single day (but never whilst sleeping) so which they can understand to lift both head and shoulders off with the floor. They also study which they can roll more than if they use arms and legs in particular way. These floor mats is usually multi-functional baby developmental toys because they have hanging toys and even music included. Most babies love these and use them for really some time at several levels of development.

Baby developmental toys are also helpful when baby starts to develop fine motor expertise. One of the very first of these will probably be when they find out to use the pincer grasp. That is the index finger and thumb working together to pick up some thing rather small. Every single baby will do this at their very own rate, and you can find toys that guide with this without having baby having to pick up a thing which they could then put into their mouth and choke on. Appear for toys that permit baby to grasp and move points and you may supply hours of learning and entertainment for everyone.

What Are Some of The Most Wanted Toys This Christmas?

Something I get asked a lot is 'What's going to be the next big thing?' You see, writing for popular culture blogs, a national magazine, websites and all that other good stuff, it is often expected that I'll know everything about every trend around the corner. I don't, but I can certainly steer you in the right direction. The festive season brings all manner of difficulties; Turkeys that won't defrost quickly enough, where all the batteries went, who keeps prodding Grandma while she's sleeping, why does Dad keep bringing up the same old argument after dinner? That sort of thing. Through all this, the kids are more interested in their new toys than their family members, and really, I can't blame them.

But making sure you get the right things for them can be an uphill struggle. I know this, you know this, and even your drunken father, who can't keep his paper hat on straight, knows it too. This year there are some very impressive toys on the market, and to help you beat the hassles of the season a little, I've listed twelve of the best toys for Christmas 2008 for you. These are some of the items that kids are crying out for this year, and while the shops may be having trouble keeping many of them in stock, there are various online outlets that have an abundance of them. So, what are they?

- Furreal Biscuit, My Lovin' Pup (Interactive Labrador puppy)

- WWE RAW Arena Playset (the full arena set for the WWE figures)

- Baby Born With Magic Potty (Interactive baby doll)

- Elmo Live! (the highly advanced interactive Elmo toy)

- Bakugan Starter pack and Bakugan Battle Arena (The brand new action and trading game)

- High School Musical Got The Moves Dance Mat (Learn 4 songs and dance routines from the movie hit)

- Ben 10 deluxe Omnitrix (Great replica of the device from the Ben 10 show)

- Gourmet Girl Cupcake Maker (Everything kids need to make delicious cupcakes)

- Kota the Triceratops (Huge interactive Triceratops for dinosaur loving kids)

- Power Rangers Overdrive Tracker (Great replica of the device from the TV show)

- I Love Ponies, Honey My Baby Pony (Adorable interactive pony)

These are just some of the great items on the market for kids at Christmas 2008, and are all in affordable price bracket, which is good in these hard times. There are plenty of other ideal items out there, including board games, tech games, tech toys, creative toys and a massive range of other media-tie-in toys that will thrill your youngsters long after the Turkey has been consigned to the realm of cold sandwiches. So there you go, some tips to help you beat the rush and the tears. Now if you'll excuse me, I have tinsel to put up.

Baby Teething Toys Help Your Baby Teeth Comfortably

Babies start to teeth at around seven months, but some babies start to teeth at around three months and others start much later, at one year old. They will start to grab at everything and bite on them, and they will also start to drool more than they usually do. Whenever the father or mother of the baby started teething when they were babies is probably the time that the baby will start to teeth.

In order to make teething more comfortable for your baby, you can buy them teething toys. This way, they will not grab at unsanitary and possibly dangerous things. Their teething will probably end at around two or three years of age, and by then they should have about twenty baby teeth.

These types of toys are available in three types. First, there are the soft toys which are meant for the first stages of your baby's teething, before the teeth start to come out. These are usually in the form of cloth and stuffed animals. To make things more exciting for your baby, there are also squeaky teething toys.

When your baby's gums start to become irritated, there are soothing cool toys. These are hollow and filled with sanitized water. They are put in the fridge to cool so that when your baby needs to chew on it, the coolness makes your baby's gums more comfortable. Your baby will also be fascinated by the temperature and have fun with the toy.

The last kind of teething toys are solid baby toys for when you can see the teeth coming out already. These kinds of toys are made from soft rubber and plastics which are painted on with nontoxic paint, examples of which include teething rings.

When you choose your baby's teething toys, you can bring your baby along to help you choose. Bright colors and shapes interest babies, so choose the ones that your baby likes the most. This way, they will have fun playing with their toy and they will not resort to picking up random and possibly harmful objects.

Baby teething toys can also serve other functions. There are rattles which have ring handles and stuffed toys with teething rings attached. Baby teething blankets are helpful as well, since they have rubber edges so that your baby can chew on them when being put to sleep. Some teething toys have built-in vibrators to massage your baby's gums and make them feel better.

Remember to check for small parts on the teething toys. If they could get dislodged, don't buy them. Also, clean your baby's teething toy when it is not being used so that they do not get too dirty. When your baby has friends over, make sure that they do not get their teething toys mixed up, since your baby's toys are meant to be your baby's only.

Toys For Babies - Baby Play Mats and Education For Young Children

Is is my imagination, or these days does everyone want their child to be the brightest in the local community? People pay out all kinds of money on high tech tools created by manufacturers which claim they will make your son or daughter extremely smart and bright. This certainly sounds like a good idea. Then again, you might have mothers and fathers complaining because their youngsters are growing up too quickly. Our society can be incredibly baffling - do we want our little ones to savor their childhoods or become more intelligent from an earlier age - or is it possible to have both?

Even infant playthings are being aimed at mind stimulation. Baby toys are produced in very colorful designs to start early education. There are baby toys that speak different languages.. Should our kids at least learn their own mother tongue language first before having toys that speak multiple languages? Whatever happened to baby toys that allow babies to just be babies? A few of my favorite toys for babies are simple ones which shake and move - allowing them to giggle at as well as learn about how to make simple noises and move things about in their environment.

When my daughter was little, I was more interested on making sure that my daughter relished being a young child. Her infant playthings were adorable, soft and cuddly, vibrant as well as loud. I was not displaying flash cards from the age of 6 months or teaching her how to do simple math. I was, in fact, rolling around on the ground with her on her play mats, teaching her by pointing out pretty shapes, animals and colors. Her baby toys encouraged her to enjoy being a baby.

One of the best things that I actually purchased for her was not really a baby toy in a sense, but a video. She loved the Baby Einstein video tutorials. The background music and colors held her fascinated for the entire length of the video. While I cannot say for certain that her mind had been stimulated and she learned anything specific, I can say that it certainly wasn't harmful to her.

For very young children, in my opinion you really can't go wrong with purchasing baby play mats either. Baby will happily lie on his or her front for a period of 'tummy time" and gaining strength within their core stomach muscles, which is an essential physical development exercise they all require, or on their backs more focused on having fun learning colors and sounds. No matter what toy your baby or young child is using every day, their brains are no doubt being stimulated.

Perhaps we should not be quite so focused on creating infant geniuses or prodigies. We should instead be focusing on bringing up healthy, contented as well as naturally smart children. There is no real need to be pushing for anything more than that basic concept.

Keeping Your Baby Bath Toys Clean and Hygienic

You would think that bath toys that spend all their play time in the bath would naturally be clean. Don't they get soaped and rinsed at every bath? Not always.

Most baby bath toys have ridges and crevasses that can collect soap residue. Unless they are thoroughly rinsed clean at least weekly this residue can build up. Not only is the white film building up on the toy unsightly, it can provide a nice growth medium for mold and mildew. Your baby will naturally chew on the toy, and you certainly don't want mold and mildew in his mouth or contaminating his bath water.

Once a week or so, take all the bath toys out of the tub or storage bag and give them a good scrub. An old toothbrush works well. Those that won't be damaged in the dishwasher can have a good wash there. Allow them to thoroughly air dry before putting them back wherever you store them.

Routinely clean squirting and other toys that can hold water inside with a solution of one part bleach to ten parts water. Suck the bleach solution up into the toy, swish it around thoroughly, and squirt it back out. Then do the same a few times with plain water to remove all the bleach. Shake out as much water as you can and allow the toy to air dry on a towel. This will prevent the buildup of mold and gunk inside the toy.

Store baby water toys in a mesh bag or other container that allows air to circulate. Buckets and other closed containers are not a good idea, because water will pool in the bottom. Toys that sit in this pooled water are breeding grounds for mold, mildew and bacteria.

Don't forget to clean the toy bag every now and then, too. If it's a mesh bag, it can probably go right into the washing machine. Be careful of hot dryer temperatures if your bag is made of plastic or nylon. It would probably be safer to air dry these types of bags.

Keep bath toys for the bath. If your child carries bath toys around the house they will pick up contaminants you really don't want to bring into the bath tub. When you make bath toys "special" it will make bath time itself special, which always makes it easier to get kids into the tub without a fuss.

Keep  a regular schedule of cleaning your baby water toys and they'll last a long time without posing a health hazard. It doesn't take long if you avoid letting things build up.

Create a Gift Memory Book

A memory book is a great gift to help celebrate a birthday or other momentous occasion. Here are a few tips and ideas to help get you started.

Gather Your Material:

For your memory book, the first thing you are going to want to do is to enlist the help of as many friends and family of the guest of honor (GOH) as you can. Get an email list together and send a list of questions out to all of them, or ask for great stories that involve the GOH. Some examples of questions might be: tell us about how you met the GOH, what is the funniest thing he or she ever said or did, how he or she helped you through a rough time, etc. The idea is to get as many different anecdotes as possible, and if there is one great story, get some different perspectives on it. If the GOH has children, see of you can get them to do a drawing or write a poem.

The key here is to not be to rigid in what you expect from your contributors. Those who have a natural bent for writing should given free reign to contribute whatever they would like to, whereas those who busy or are hard to pin down can just give short answers to specific questions.

You should also ask for some great photographs from the past and present. You may have to encourage some people to scan photos that are not already in a digital format, or to send them to you via snail mail.

Putting it Together:

There are a few different ways you can go about this. You can either put the stories and pictures in chronological order of the GOH's life, or you can let each contributor have his or her own page, or you can divide the book into sections that were contributed by friends, family, children, etc.

When you are designing your pages, it might be a good idea to include clip art of the GOH's favorite hobbies, or items that are representative of what the story on that particular page is. If, for instance, someone is telling a story about a fishing trip, you can include clip art or images of fishing flies and rods, etc.

When you are putting your memory book together, keep fun in mind. Your GOH is going to be totally surprised, so depending on his or her personality, you may not want to do anything too embarrassing or tear-jerkingly poignant. Then again, you might. It all depends on the person. Just keep in mind that the book you are creating is something that you want the GOH to keep forever.

Printing and Binding:

When it comes to printing, you will probably want to make the pages as high quality as possible, so use a digital color printer if possible. There are lots of options for binding the book. "You can take it to the print and copy shop, send it away to one of many online services, or for less than one hundred dollars you can get a machine that will allow you to bind the book yourself. Thermal (hardcover) binding machines are really easy to use, and allow you to make as many copies as you want at a moment's notice. They are great to have around for other projects too, as well as repairing your old and worn out books.

Naming Your Baby - 5 Helpful Tips for Personalising Your Baby Naming Ceremony

Baby naming ceremonies, in one form or another, have a history practically as old as man. What is new are the original ideas new parents keep coming up with for the traditional baby naming ceremony.

Naming ceremonies are fulfilling and meaningful experiences to name and welcome a new baby. Some religious baby naming ceremonies offer a bit of flexibility. But many parents are designing their own naming ceremonies to suit their own personal tastes.

Whichever route you choose, you're guaranteed to have an unforgettable and creative baby naming ceremony when you include an Instant Photo Guest Book in the festivities. This distinctive combination photo album and guest book will capture your special event the Instant it happens, to enjoy immediately - and for years to come.

Here are 5 tips to help make your naming ceremony as unique as your precious new baby:

1. Naming Ceremonies Cross All Religious & National Boundaries

A baby naming ceremony is a great alternative to the traditional Christening. There are lots of options to personalise your naming ceremony. You can have it as formal or informal, religious, traditional or untraditional as you choose. Naming ceremonies range from traditional religious baby naming ceremonies like the Jewish baby naming ceremony) to having the naming ceremony conducted in the local registry office by a registrar to having a simple ceremony at home conducted by a family friend.

Hint: If the naming is taking place weeks or months after the baby is born, try to schedule it for a time of day when you know the baby will be at its most sociable and alert state. The last thing you want is a cranky guest of honour!

2. Baby Naming Ceremony - A Celebration for All Family & Friends

Your baby's godparents (also referred as mentors or even 'odd-parents') deserve a special place of honor at the baby naming ceremony, but keep in mind that all family relationships and friendships are deepened with the naming ceremony celebration. Your wider circle of family and friends usually enjoys these unique ceremonies because baby naming ceremonies stem from the concept that each adult present at the ceremony is in part responsible for the care of the child.

Hint: To include all the guests as special participants at your baby naming ceremony, go around the room and take Polaroid photos of your guests. Then have them write a personal wish for the baby's future on a page of your Instant Photo Guest Book.

3. Jewish Baby Naming Ceremonies

In Judaism, a newborn boy's naming is a religious ceremony called a brit mila meaning ritual circumcision. This takes place the eighth day after the baby's birth. Designing a Jewish baby naming ceremony for a girl, a simchat bat (birth celebration for a girl) is more flexible as there's no "official" ceremony to perform. It's traditional for Jewish babies (boys and girls alike) to be named for a deceased family member. This keeps lost loved ones "present" for the next generation.

Hint: Many Jewish families use only the first letter of the name they're memorializing, such as Hannah for Grandpa Herb or Stephen for Aunt Sarah. When guests make entries in your Instant Photo Guest Book, ask them to include a meaningful word starting with the first letter of the baby's new name.

4. Naming Significance - Announce & Explain the Names That Have Been Chosen

Choosing the name of the new baby is not a simple task. In some cultures the name of the parent or a respected friend or relative is given to the child. Other cultures and Jewish baby naming ceremonies give the name of a deceased relative to honor the memory of the ancestors. In other cultures, the religious elders are consulted to provide a name that will bring good fortune to the child. No matter what method is used, the choice of the given name is important. The naming ceremony serves to identify this new baby as someone who exists as a unique individual - with a name that has meaning. Often, the meaning of the name is explained as part of the ceremony.

For example, Emily, which means eager or industrious, has held its own as one of the most popular girls' names since 1880. Michael is another classic, derived from Hebrew and meaning "a gift from God." What could be better?

Hint: Prior to the baby naming ceremony, pick a close friend or family member. Allowing plenty of time, ask them to prepare the naming presentation and be sure to add this entry to your Photo Guest Book album as a keepsake for memories long after the naming ceremony is over!

5. Baby Naming Ceremony - Accepting the Invitation

Understanding the significance of being an attendee to a baby naming ceremony, next time you are asked to attend a naming ceremony, you will respond with the knowledge that you are following a tradition that goes back to the dawn of mankind. You are the recipient of a special honor and carry a special responsibility to share in the nurturing of a new life!

Hint: If you are attending a family or special friend's baby naming ceremony, volunteer to be the one who creates the Instant Photo Guest Book Album. Be in charge of taking the Polaroid pictures and getting all the guests to write their personal sentiments and then present it as a special gift to the parents the instant the celebration is over!

Baby Eating Habits - Which Approach Do You Take

One of the first decisions we make is if we breast feed or bottle feed our baby. This will be an emotional topic which ever option you choose. Nutrition is not just about preparing and serving food its much more complex and our own childhood experiences will have a great influence on this. Most parents will feel that the more their child eats the better. They feel that this is a reflection on their parenting and the more the child eats the more successful the parent. A child whose diet consists of dry cereal and juice will leave their parent feeling frustrated and embaressed, these emotions will not go unnoticed by the child and will have a knock on effect. In the case of a faddy eater this may cause the situation to get worse.

Faddy eating is a normal stage in your childs development. A basic fact is that most children will go through a stage of faddy eating. This usually occurs during the toddler years when they go through a stage of being a bit obsessive about most things in their life. Most children go through an obsessive stage when they will only wear clothes of a ertain color or they will only eat one type of food. This is a very normal stage and will soon pass as long as the parent does not fall into the trap of focusing too much on the problem.

The best approach to faddy eating is to stay calm, the chances of your child starving to death is very slim. As long as the child is drinking a lot of fluids and eating some food during the day he should be okay. Make sure that your child is getting the appropriate amount of vitamins and minerals, you can do this by putting a vitamin and mineral supplement into his drink, your local pharmasist can recommed one to suit your child. Most children will grow out of this phase, and for those who continue the high stress level of a parent will not help with the situation.

All experts advise to keep all stress and arguments over food to a minimum. The more you focus on this the more you are aggravating the problem. Keep calm and tackle the situation clearly. Some practical tips to help you through this phase are:

It is advisable for toddlers to drink one pint of milk per day. Measure up a pint glass of milk and leave this in the refriderator to be drawn from through out the day. A child should not drink more than this as they will fill up on milk leaving no room in the tummy for solid foods through out the day.

At meal times don't give your child a drink until they are finished their meal as the fluids will give the sensation of being full and they will eat less food. This should encourage them to eat whats on their plate.

The changing of a childs eating pattern will not happen over night. This will take some time and patents. Expect to make gradual progress with this phase.

Your child doesn't have to get all its necessary food requirements at meal times. If your child refuses to sit down to a plate of food don't worry too much. A child can get all his food requirements from small nutritious snacks at regular intervals throughout the day. If your child accepts healthy snacks then these will help provide the range of nutrients they need.

Don't take your childs eating habits personally. Sometimes a parent will get upset if their child is eating at crèche or at another parents house. This is not a reflection on you or your cooking. Sometimes a child will eat when they see another child eating, they wil imitate their peers.

If you are concerned about the effects these eating habits are having on your childs health, don't hesitate to seek the advice of your doctor. As before it maybe that your child will require a supplement during this period to provide some of the nutrients they are currenty missing out on. All supplements are not the same so make sure to get advice from your pharmacist or family doctor.

A Day in a Life of a Baby

Don't you wish you were a baby again? Unlike most babies and young children I have no desire to grow up, being a baby is just brilliant.

What a start to the day, no worries about getting tired at work as a baby I can wake up early safe in the knowledge that I can sleep whenever I like and scream the place down. Generally a screaming baby gets a brilliant reaction, attention from all directions with everyone happy to do anything if it will just shut me, the screaming baby, up.

Well that the lungs exercised and the belly full and for me, a baby boy the extra satisfaction of getting a good eyeful, excellent training for a few years time!

With breakfast over its time to play with baby toys. Don't you just love it when daddy gets really excited over baby toys? Of course he should have grown up long ago but who's to argue if he wants to make a complete ass of himself just for his adorable baby's amusement.

Oops, dirty baby diaper, no worries mummy or daddy will fix it pretty quick. Wait for it, that's the diaper taken off so lets start the fountain, it's good for a laugh. A baby always comes out on top adults have a lot to learn when it comes to changing baby diapers.

Oh well, morning fun over, just enough time for a quick nap before mid morning snack. On second thoughts let's go for the 'rocking baby to sleep' approach, I'm sure someone will oblige if I scream loud enough.

Looks like we're off out somewhere, no worries I'll just sleep through the boring bits and I'm bound to see something interesting. Baby strollers are brilliant, really comfortable with great designs for the fashion conscious baby.

I'm not too keen on the car seat with wings, not really built with baby curiosity in mind. No worries I'll just cry a few times until they understand that I need a new one. A few extra dirty baby diapers and a couple of bouts of throwing up might help.

Baby socialisation is pretty good no one worries about throwing baby girls and baby boys together so you can ogle all you like.

Evenings are brilliant, daddy's home and happy to play for hours, them there's the evening feed, bath time (not too keen on the hair washing bit though), the pretty lights on the nursery ceiling and then daddy reads from one of my baby books. A brilliant end to a brilliant day who wants to work!

Custom Presentation Folders - Keeping You Organised

Presentation has a certain hold on a good many people. To better help those people to get past the package and address the content, there are some simple options that you may want to consider the next time you need a gentle package or cover for something very special. Thinking in terms like this can help you to garner a bit more appreciation than you might expect. Sometimes you may find that the outside does the work of the inside before the inside is ever revealed. With custom printed folders you can do all this. It is one way to present your business identity before the information that your business and that folders have to offer the client, colleague, or cohort.

Everybody Knows

It matters little whether your business is something that is as playful as the Internet or something that is as serious as the law, the first impression is one that can help to shape the tone of the interaction. As a result there can be obvious benefits to having a logo or easily noted presentation on the outside of the folder. It can help the recipient to identify the sender and in some cases it can gain recognition for your business among the many people that might see it on a desk or in the hand of a passerby. These mini-advertisements can add up over time, and what they add up to is recognition.

Make It Real

One of the obvious steps in the process of getting custom printed folders is to locate a printer. This may seem easy enough, but this step is one that will determine the costs that you incur time and again. The result is that with this single decision, you can shape the financial impact of having custom printed folders. One of the primary considerations when selecting a printer is quality though. It should ultimately be a printer that is within your budget, but you should not consider a printer that cannot deliver the level of quality that you need for your printing. A number of printers can also help you with the design of your folder as well.

The Design

Whether you are going it alone, or if you are getting a little help from your new printer friend you will need to give some thought to the design that you will have printed on the folder. Among the major considerations is whether the design is one that you will want to display indefinitely. When it comes to recognition, the only way that you can build it is if people can recognize your business identity. If you are constantly changing you logo or your name then it is more difficult for people to recognize it.

As a result a lasting image and/or name can carry the potential of your custom printed folder a long way. There are some other key points that are common. Use only a few words and make them large enough to be read from a distance. Use an image that resembles something common, but it quite distinct in its own way.

Keep in mind that the process can be a lengthy one. The printing alone may take days to complete. The planning and the design may take considerably longer.

Toy Model Trains

From their beginning to present day, trains have enlivened numerous young boys. So much so that most boys had to have their own replica of the real steam, diesel or electric behemoths. Toy model trains offer a powerful addiction to many a young man and a few young women. Little boys viewed the speeding trains from their family rooms and didn't realize what manner of genius caused them to be so fantastic. However, as those little boys become adults they begin to understand just what it was that enchanted them while they were young and remained apart of their lives well into their adult lives; the power of a wonderful feat of engineering.

Whatever causes grown men to amuse themselves using "toy model trains"? It may constitute the reality that men are merely captivated by the idea of commanding a machine so powerful even though it is 1/48 of its real life size. Perhaps it's the mystique about the way trains function; the electrical energy coursing through the lines to cause it to operate. Maybe it's the fact that trains are so well thought out; solely capable of running along its own rails. Or perchance it's the nostalgia of watching the train chugging round the Christmas tree each year that causes us to prefer to relive our childhood fascination through our "miniature" trains. However, the word miniature or toy isn't a precise description anymore in a discussion about model trains. These toys have grown into machines and are prepared for encounters with the grownups.

Toy trains are generally the fabricated ones that you can get for sale during your Holiday spending. They're inexpensive and priced in a manner as to get kids into the model train hobby. When young boys come of age they develop into men. And once toy model trains grow up, they're referred to as locomotives. Locomotives are built to endure. They're of an exceptional caliber and almost all have done away with the "push it somewhat to cause it to run" characteristic as with lesser caliber trains. Their wheels are constructed to provide a greater connection with the track so as to sustain a more dependable contact to the electrical energy which will facilitate getting it to operate. They're the things that cause model railroaders to grin. Additionally, locomotives have more powerful engines. A more powerful engine signifies more outstanding pulling ability. An exceptional locomotive is likewise constructed of metal as opposed to being fabricated from plastic like many toy model trains. The heft of the train, to a large extent possesses a huge outcome concerning how well it operates. The greater the weight of the train, the better it will maintain connection with the track and consequently, a more dependable operating train.

Plus, should electricity not be adequate, the tremendous manufacturers from the toy model train industry produce steam engines for the child residing in adult men. Naturally there exists many different caliber of trains in the industry which produce steam engines but, there exists nothing better than relishing these trains utilizing vivid steam filling their scenery.

Precious few young boys experience the chance to grow and be able to actually drive a train. I'm certain that many train drivers view their livelihood as a job as opposed to being a young child's life long ambition. However, we do not need to each become train drivers to accomplish our dreams. We can revel ourselves with the avocation that a lot of of us have a passion for; toy model trains.
